PULLULAN
Pullulan is a glucose homopolysaccharide consisting of α (1-6) associated maltotrioses. It is a natural polymer which is obtained by fermentation of fungus Aureobasidium pullulans. Thanks to its specific composition, pullulan creates fibers and films that are insoluble in oils and do not leak oxygen. As a polysaccharide polymer, it protects skin cells from drying out. It is non-toxic, non-immunogenic, non-carcinogenic and non-mutagenic. Due to the presence of nine hydroxyl groups and the possibility of creating different derivatives, it has the ability of adhesion, agglomeration and thickening. It is a powerful antioxidant.
